摘要:
《弗雷德里克·道格拉斯:一个美国奴隶的自述,由他本人亲自撰写》除了正文之外,还有副文本和链文本等伴随文本。副文本是加里森写的前言和菲利普斯的来信,而链文本则是紧随故事正文之后的附录。通过运用伴随文本理论进行分析,我们发现:副文本为正文的叙述戴上了由白人保证人打造的“白色面具”,正文正是在这“白色面具”下进行叙述从而构建了自身的真实性,而链文本通过让作者现身对正文进行评论和解释,从而摘下了“白色面具”,反抗了副文本中的白人霸权。
Abstract:
As a classic of slave narratives in American literature, Frederick Douglass' Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, Written by Himself, published in 1845, consists of a text and co-texts such as para-textsand link-text. The Narrative's para-texts include William Lloyd Garrison's preface and Wendell Phillips' letter, and its link-text is Douglass' explanatory appendix following the text. The analysis with the theory of co-texts indicates that the para-texts mask the narrative of the text with white authenticators' "white mask", under which the text constructs its own authenticity, while the link-text, through enabling the author to comment on and explain the text, takes off the "white mask" and struggles against the white hegemony of the para-texts.
